FAITH * FAMILY * COMMUNITY
VISION
A Family of Faith envisions strong Catholic families where children experience the joy of following Jesus and grow in the truths of the faith through the lived witness of their parents. Designed for children in grades K–8 and their families, this program integrates home and parish life. Youth in grades 4–9 are also introduced to Youth Ministry as part of their ongoing formation.
RATIONALE
Lasting faith begins at home. Research consistently shows that parental involvement is the most powerful influence in nurturing children to become lifelong disciples of Christ. A family-based model encourages faith to be not only taught but lived—within the family and in the wider Church community.
GOALS
Discover the faith you didn’t know you were looking for.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
A Family of Faith is a dynamic, family-centered formation program that strengthens the connection between parish and home through monthly gatherings and engaging home-based learning.
Each month includes three key components:
Adult Session
Once a month, parents, grandparents, and caregivers gather for formation, support, and fellowship. These sessions provide:
Children’s Sessions
Held twice a month, children meet in age-appropriate groups to explore the faith together. These sessions include:
At-Home Formation
Using the A Family of Faith materials, families continue learning at home at their own pace. The flexible structure allows families to engage in activities that best suit their schedule and needs—making faith a natural part of everyday life.
PROGRAM FEATURES
All program materials are distributed at the first Parent Session.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Materials will be given to students during their first class. Preparation follows this structure:
Year 1 – Reconciliation
Year 2 – Confirmation & First Holy Communion
FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL FAMILIES
Even if your child attends a Catholic school, sacramental preparation must be done through your home parish.

“There are two powerful influences on the planet-
the church and the home.
They both exist because God initiated them.
They both exist because God desires to use them to demonstrate
His plan of redemption and restoration.
If they work together they can potentially make a greater impact than if they work alone.
They need each other.
Too much is at stake for either one to fail.
Their primary task is to build God’s Kingdom in the hearts of
men and women, sons and daughters.”
